Fire Damage Restoration
![]()

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, this redwood house burned in a 1994 fire that damaged most of the bedroom wing. Negotiations with the insurer resulted in eventual demolition of that part of the structure and extensive renovations in the living room prow-like space.

Dressing area. Ceiling and wall paneling has
been milled to the exact original dimensions
out of clear dried vertical grain redwood.
Continuous narrow windows covered with sawn
wood repeating cut-outs provide light and
visual interest below the 6'-8" entry soffit and
below the higher interior ceiling. The
cabinetwork has been modified, but is once
again made from clear vertical-grain redwood
plywood. Stacked drawer fronts are cut from
a single piece; doors use brasspiano hinges.
